A Program Graduate Among Kismet’s Three Newest Board Members
Kismet Rock Foundation Welcomes Three New Board Members
A Kismet graduate among the new talent to join
December 13, 2010, North Conway, New Hampshire – Kismet Rock Foundation (Kismet), a New Hampshire based educational non-profit, recently welcomed Anna Demarco, Eileen Conway and Pete Masterson to the board of directors.
“Anna, Eileen and Pete bring fresh perspective and outstanding personal and professional experience to help Kismet move forward in innovative ways,” says Sarah Garlick, Chair of the Board. “We are especially excited to welcome Anna, a Kismet graduate, to such an esteemed level of leadership in the organization.”
The first graduate of Kismet’s program to be accepted on the board of directors, Anna Demarco will bring the voice of the students to Kismet. A 2007 graduate of A. Crosby Kennett Senior High School, Demarco completed a Kismet internship this past summer. She was a student in Kismet’s summertime educational rock climbing program from 2000-2005. A painter and photographer in her free time, Demarco is looking toward continued education in psychology and hopes to help children and share the unique experiences she had with Kismet.
Eileen Conway brings a long list of accomplishments with her to the Kismet board of directors. After a 20-year career in engineering and financing services with General Electric Company, most recently Conway served as a Hertz Corporation global fleet leader. An AMGA single pitch instructor, Conway believes the experiences children have in the wilderness and adventure gives them confidence they can build on throughout their lives.
“Kismet’s rock climbing instruction helps the students discover new skills for overcoming fear and trusting themselves,” says Conway. “They meet new friends in a safe, supportive family like community and return home knowing they accomplished something few people ever venture to do!”
A cinematographer and co-founder of a production company, Pete Masterson has supported Kismet since the foundation’s beginning. As a volunteer with founder Mike Jewell in its first years, Masterson 
has watched Kismet become what it is today.
“[Kismet offers] an amazing opportunity for underprivileged children to glimpse into a world many of us take for granted,” says Masterson. “This world is self empowerment…I have seen the profound affect it has on the students that go through it.”
The Kismet Rock Foundation Board of Directors, under the leadership of Chairperson Sarah Garlick, extends its sincere gratitude to long-time board member Chris Graham, who recently completed his service.
